ECM Industries Volunteers at the Hunger Task Force Farm
Franklin, Wisconsin – October 23, 2019
Cloudy skies and cool temperatures couldn’t keep the ECM Industries leadership team out of the field last Wednesday. They volunteered to help bring in the harvest at the Hunger Task Force farm. The Farm is a unique 208-acre urban farm located in the suburb of Franklin, Wisconsin. The Farm supplies over half a million pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables to the food bank throughout the year.
Knowing they were helping Milwaukee’s at-risk populations – low-income children, seniors and families – who often go hungry because of lack of resources or access to adequate food made it all worth it. The ECM Industries leadership team was glad to jump in and help pick corn. They harvested approximately 3,200 lbs. of sweet corn on their shift. All of the corn they picked has already been distributed to in-need individuals in Milwaukee County.
“It was certainly different work than we are used to but at ECM Industries we are all about doing whatever it takes to get the job done. We appreciate the opportunity to give back to our community and we are honored to contribute our time for such a worthy cause.” stated Vice President of Product and Marketing Dave Wiesemann.
